Tama River (Tamagawa 多摩川)
There are five main river basins in the greater Tokyo area : Tonegawa, Arakawa Tamagawa, Sagamigawa and Tsurumigawa. But in total there are over a hundred rivers in Tokyo. Many of them are just channels and in some cases there are running in tunnels, covered by streets and constructions.
Tama is one of the most characteristic one. Its shape changes constantly housing a series of different leisure activities and interesting district on its banks. Several interesting bridges cross this river making its profile constantly different. The intent of this project is to describe the character of the river and this part of the city. I decided to use only my Hasselblad 503cx medium format (square ratio) film camera to describe it with only the 80mm Zeiss lens.
