“Detour” _ The Commute project

This project is one of my favorite: I describe the part of the city that I see when I go to Office in the morning or when I come back home in the evening. I have been living in the same apartment for about 5 years and it takes me almost 50 minutes to go to office by walking and in this gap of time I encounter several different situation: residential areas, busy streets, important buildings, a major cemetery,… I do not choose always the same way in order to see as much situation as possible. I also do not bring always my favorite cameras and therefore sometimes I ended up using my smartphone but I believe that for this project the process and the subjects are more important than the quality of the photos. Some of them are a bit rough, some have a low quality resolution or they are blurred but I still think they depict well the situation I encounter every day. As you can see from the pictures below there are multiple images about the stadium (designed by our office and now completed) and about the Aoyama cemetery, two of my favorite subjects on my commute.
Mostly of the images have been taken with Olympus Om1n my 35mm film camera. It’s the lighter camera I have and I love the film grain texture for this project.
