Shinjuku (新宿): Portrait of one of Tokyo’s most iconic districts _ 1
Shinjuku is not just the district where I live but it is, in my opinion, also the heart of the city. Being a multicentral city, It is difficult to define the center of Tokyo but somehow if I have to chose one of the main station along the Yamanote line (loop railway running around the metropolitan city core) I would pick Shinjuku. It’s a multifaceted part of the city and therefore difficult to describe in few words. Hopefully the photos here below will explain better than any text I could ever write in this tiny space. With few exceptions, the photos in this album has been taken with a Nikon D850. The scope of the project was to describe not only the cityscape of Shinjuku but especially the multiple character of the city through the people. Mostly of the pictures have been shoot during evening time where Shinjuku shines with all his colors. In the next chapter I used different cameras, techniques and time in order to describe different the other aspect of this amazing district.
