I am an Italian architect and a photographer based in Tokyo, Japan.
I was born and raised in a small village between Venice and Padua, Italy.
ARCHITECTURE: I graduated Summa Cum Laude in Architecture from University IUAV of Venice in 2008. After graduation, I began working in two different architectural practices, as teacher assistant at IUAV university of Venice and as researcher at the same university for a couple of years . Soon, after in 2010, I decided to move to Japan where I started to work as an architect at Kengo Kuma and Associates office where I currently cover the role of Chief Project Manager. My works range from small pavilion to villas, towers, resorts and others.
I also perform architectural design consultation as freelance since 2017.
PHOTOGRAPHY: I have been passionate about photography since I was 16 but I have decided to get more serious about it only after my graduation and especially after arriving in Japan. I specialize in street photography (describing the city of Tokyo), “urban portraits” and landscape photography among others. I work as free lance photographer since 2017.
I am familiar with either film (full frame and medium frame) and digital photography (full frame DSLR and smartphone).
Photography is part of my everyday life, reporting every interesting aspect of the city, especially in the district where I live: Shinjuku.
Shinjuku district and the 45 minutes walking separating my house from KKAA office have become one of my most prolific photographic project. I think that catching the moment is more important than a perfect shot and therefore I don’t care if in that moment I am carrying with me only my old smartphone; the shot might not be my best portfolio’s photo but I prefer to have it anyway.
